Founded in 1945 by Jorge De Rosa Thompson in Buenos Aires, the company grew from a one-man ceramics career into a family business spanning Uruguay and Brazil. In 1996, his son Jorge De Rosa Duo took over, launching De Rosa Collections — now led alongside his daughter Agustina, blending tradition with modern innovation.

1945

Our Beginning

In 1945 a young man by the name of Jorge De Rosa Thompson enrolled in the country of Argentina's National school of Ceramic Design. The Escuela Nacional de Cerámica, located in the capital city of Buenos Aires, was home to world class artist and professors the likes of Fernando Arranz and Antonio Berni. Jorge De Rosa Thompson thrived in this fascinating new environment, exhibiting a special passion for the craft of ceramic design. Upon graduation he stayed on at the school as a professor while beginning his own career as a ceramicist, creating and designing ceramic works of art for homes and businesses located along the banks of the River Plate.
1975

First Milestone

During spring of 1965, Mr. De Rosa Thompson moved his family across the River Plate to Montevideo, Uruguay where he opened his company, expanding his marketing into the countries of Uruguay and Brazil. In 1975 he co-founded along with Jesus & Javier Carbajales "Artesanía Rinconada". His only child, Jorge De Rosa Duo, grew up in contact with the ceramic atmosphere. As a kid he accompanied his father to the factory where he had opportunity to see how designers worked, awakening in him a great interest in ceramic art.
1996

Growth & Innovation

In 1996, Jorge De Rosa Thompson handed over the running of the company to his son Jorge De Rosa Duo. This marked a new era of growth for the family business with the decision to create "De Rosa Collections" and build a new production plant. He started by dreaming with timeless creations, by believing firmly in the present and the future. And before long, he find himself successful, introducing De Rosa Collections: universally recognized for their artistic and elegant use of platinum, 18 karat gold, and vibrant enamel glazes in the creation of their hand-made ceramic figurines.
2013

Today & Beyond

The new generation introduces innovations not only in design and style of the figures but also new techniques. Today the company is led by Jorge De Rosa Duo in the company of his eldest daughter Agustina De Rosa. Always evolving, reinventing through bright colors, original forms and innovative textures. The aesthetic and sophisticated gilding have been brought together in distinguished designs that please both the eye and the heart. A vehicle for expression which knows no limits made just for you…
