Where It All Began

Every great British brand has an origin story. Carrs Silver's starts with one man, a passion for craft, and the steel city of Sheffield. When Ron Carr incorporated Carrs of Sheffield Limited in the year of the Queen's Silver Jubilee, he wasn't just starting a business, he was planting the seed of what would become one of Britain's most celebrated silverware houses. From the very beginning, exceptional quality was never optional. It was the only option.

The Crowns Approval

Some achievements speak for themselves. When Carrs Silver was awarded the Queen's Award for Export Achievement, it marked the moment the world truly took notice. Sheffield silverware, crafted with painstaking skill and pride, was now gracing homes across the globe, and earning the highest accolade British industry can bestow. A royal seal of approval for a brand that had always held itself to royal standards.

A Place Among Icons

Harrods. Selfridges. Two names synonymous with the very best of British luxury. In 1995, Carrs Silver took its place among them, opening concessions in both of London's most legendary department stores. For discerning customers seeking something truly special, Carrs Silver had become the name to know. Not just a Sheffield manufacturer. A British luxury brand.

Masters Of The Craft

Great brands don't just grow, they lead. With the acquisition of the Osborne Group, a Sheffield cutlery maker with 300 years of heritage, Carrs Silver became the UK's largest start to finish manufacturer of cutlery. Three centuries of patterns. Unrivalled expertise. All brought together under one Sheffield roof. It was a bold statement of intent: Carrs Silver isn't just part of Britain's silverware story, it is the story.

A Legacy Carried Forwards

As the nation celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Carrs Silver marked a milestone of its own. The next generation, Andrew, Martin and Richard Carr, stepped up to lead the family business into its next chapter. The name on the door may be the same, but the ambition is anything but standing still. Rooted in Sheffield. Guided by family. Built to endure.
