By letting your wine “breathe” in a decanter, it reduces the harsh taste of tannins in red wine, and creates a more mellow, balanced and fruit-driven flavour for all wines. Young wines can be decanted in any shape, but choose a “gentle” decanter for wines that are more than 10 years old.
